Richard White Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce Richard C. White, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, surrounded by family at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

A devoted family man, Rick loved his role as a Dad and Poppie, he leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Karen; his daughter, Alexis Glowinski and husband, Mark; his son, Richard and girlfriend, Rawan; his cherished granddaughters, Cora and Sloane; his brothers, Michael, Alan and Johnny; his sister, Patricia Setivan; beloved nieces and nephews; and the family cat, Lucky Joe.

He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Penn State University where he received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. Rick enjoyed his lifelong career working in critical airflow control at Laboratory Systems Controls and was fortunate enough to have Steve, Mark and Mark as his co-workers/friends for over 30 years.

Rick loved his community, and as his children grew, he coached several sports teams and was always willing to help where ever he was needed.

Rick was an avid Penn State fan, loved golfing, especially with his son and son-in-law, loved a good cigar and relished using his famous pincher move on his granddaughters. He was passionate in supporting his son-in-law's professional career and took great joy in attending as many games as he could.
