Ronald Shiffer Obituary
Born in Scranton, son of the late Elmer Paul and Elsie Irene Fox Shiffer, Ronald graduated from North Pocono High School and served in the Army. Before retiring, Ronald drove trucks, first for his father Elmer P. Shiffer Trucking and lastly, R+L Carriers.
Ronald enjoyed driving and when he couldn't be found in a truck cab, he could be found enjoying the open air riding his motorcycle. He often rode with and was a member of the Hamlin Hawgs, raising money for various charitable groups they support. Most importantly, he was a loving husband and father who treasured the time he spent with his family.
Also surviving are his children, William James Shiffer, Scranton; Ronald William Shiffer Jr., Elmhurst; Judy Helen Hampton, Carbondale; and Samantha Nicole LoBue, Scranton; sister, Barbara Shiffer; brothers, James, Richard and Paul Shiffer; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp. Cremation was private in Strauch's Pocono Crematory in Gouldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hamlin Hawgs Inc., P.O. Box 125, Hamlin, PA 18427. To share your fondest memories of Ronald, visit the funeral home's website or Facebook page.
