Marion Isabell Murawski

Marion Isabell Murawski Cedarville Marion Isabell Murawski, 73, formerly of Port Huron, MI, died June 17, 2009 at her home. She was born April 23, 1936 in Novi, MI. Marion's family moved to Port Huron when she was a child and she lived there for most of her life. She worked for an Ohio stock brokerage firm and later for Oppenheimer. Marion opened her home and heart for many years to Youth for Understanding Exchange Students hosting students from Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Spain. Marion was a member of the VFW Auxiliarly, the Bethel Lutheran Church in Cedarville, and the Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron where she taught Sunday school, was very active in many church activities and continued many friendships after moving to Cedarville. She spent many summers boating on the St. Clair River and traveled throughout the country in her motor home. Marion also enjoyed painting, especially water landscapes and lighthouses. Marion is survived by four sons, Scott (Nancy) Bartley of Kinross, MI, Joseph (Suzie) Bartley of Jacksonville, FL, Mark (Linda Newland) Bartley of Kinross, and Thomas (Cindy) Bartley of Cedarville; one daughter, Melanie (Manual) Gonzales of Port Huron; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother, Isabell Steemburg of St. Ignace, MI; two brothers, Ray (Dolly) Steemburg and Gary (Jerry) Steemburg, both of Port Huron; and two sisters, Patty (Bill) Wickins of Elkton, MI and Sue (Don) Locke of Glennie, MI. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Murawski; father, Creighton Steemburg; and son, Robert Bartley. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas Edison Park underneath the Bluewater Bridge in Port Huron.
