Patsy McCartney Obituary

Patsy J. "Deama" McCartney St. Clair Patsy J. "Deama" McCartney, 76, of St. Clair, passed away on May 20, 2008 in her home surrounded by her family. All who knew her admired her strength and zest for life. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and in her eyes they became a part of her "family." Patsy was born October 2, 1931 in St. Clair to the late Thomas and Ethel Sharrow. She married the love of her life, Earl McCartney, on March 10, 1949. Earl passed away 3 months ago on February 18, 2008. Patsy worked at St. Clair High School for 25 years and her passion was to fight for the kids that everyone gave up on. She always felt that she received much more from those students then she ever gave and they held a special place in her heart. She will forever be known as "mom" to many and for such a little woman she really did matter and made such a difference in the world. Patsy is survived by her children, Steve and Connie McCartney of Marysville, Janet McCartney, Tom and Nereide McCartney, Dan (Babe) and Pamela McCartney, Mike and Joy McCartney, Annie Cooper and Earl and Emily McCartney, all of St. Clair; grandchildren, Wes, Steve, Jeff, Erika and Patrick McCartney, Stephanie McTevia, Monica McCartney, Matt and Heather McCartney, Katie Born, Kylene Smith, Stefan Hull, Mike, Katie and Sara McCartney, Shaina Warsinsky and Jared Tarnacki, Ryan and Ashley Cooper, Amber McLane and Hailey McCartney; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Rosie (Harry) Kelly and Louise (Jerry) Auclair, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends Jackie and Ken Rands. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Earl, her parents and stepmother Margaret Sharrow, her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Babe Delor, Betty Parker and brother and sister-in-law Bud and Edith Sharrow. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 - 9 p.m. at L.C. Friederichs & Son Funeral Home, 214 Trumbull, St. Clair. Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
