Albert Guy Jr. Obituary


ELON - Mr. Albert "A.J." Guy Jr., 78, of 101 Cleveland Street, died November 30, 2009 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mamie L. Patrick Guy, and the son of the late Mr. Albert Guy Sr. and the late Mrs. Allene Simpson Guy. Mr. Guy worked in Maintenance at Carolina Biological Supply Company and was a member of Elon First Baptist Church, Elon, N.C.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Guy (Nettie) of Reidsville, N.C. and Melvin Guy of the home; one daughter, Linda Ann Guy of Burlington, N.C.; seven sisters, Elizabeth Miles, Virgie Burton, Georgia Russell (Harold), Allie Mae Williamson (Donnell), Frances Patrick, Nell Rowe (Jesse) and Catherine Thomas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
One brother, Mr. Joseph "Joe" Guy and one daughter, Wanda Guy, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel at Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington, with a visitation from 1:30 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The public viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 1 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Ms. Linda Ann Guy, 606
Queen Ann Street, Burlington, N.C.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington, N.C.
