Barbara Clapp Obituary

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Barbara Ann Tate Clapp died Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born in Burlington to Mr. Andrew Tate and Mrs. Madeline Warren Tate, both deceased.

She was retired after many years of service as a social worker with the Department of Social Services in Alamance County.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 55 years of the home; a sister, Mona Tate Walker of Greensboro; A loving sister-in-law, Ms. Ruth Tate of Orangeburg, S.C.; many special nieces; nephews; aunts; an uncle; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the First Baptist Church on Apple Street. Visitation will be at the church at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Dr. R.W. Styles Sr. will officiate.

Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home is serving the Clapp Family.
