Ben served three years in the U.S. Navy, worked at Textiles Sales Room and Stevenson and Vestal. His keen sense of humor was always a personality trait everyone loved and he enjoyed a good round of golf in his spare time.
Preceding Ben in death were his parents, Thomas Franklin and Mable Greeson Bristow; and brothers, Harry Bristow and Billy Joe Bristow.
He is survived a sister, Mary Thacker of Seffner, Fla.; brothers, Thomas "Tom" Bristow and wife Susan of Graham, Bob Bristow and wife Shirley of Burlington and Bunny Bristow and wife Faye of Elon; sister-in-law, Kay Bristow of Burlington. Twelve nieces and nephews as well as 24 great nieces and nephews all had a special love for Ben as he did for them.
The body will remain at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Graham Memorial Park with the Rev. Howard Thompson officiating.
The family requests memorial donations be made in Ben's memory to the Hospice Home of Burlington, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215
