Charles Crenshaw Obituary

BURLINGTON - Mr. Charles Dean Crenshaw Sr., 75, of 237 Fieldstone Drive, died at Durham Regional Medical Center on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010.

A native of Kings Mountain, he was the husband of Bernice Cox Crenshaw, who survives, and the son of William Rudolph Crenshaw Sr. and Orangel Harmon Crenshaw, both deceased. He was a veteran and sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Crenshaw was President of Carolina Nissan and Crenshaw Hyundai. He was President of Nissan's National Advisory Board for several years. He was a member of Burlington Assembly of God and very involved with Meals on Wheels and the Alamance County Humane Society.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Terry Crenshaw and wife Wendy and Chuck Crenshaw and wife Mary Lou, all of Burlington; five grandchildren whom he was so proud of, Matthew Crenshaw, John Crenshaw, Ben Crenshaw, Blair Miller and Katie Crenshaw; and two sisters, Lynn Halacheff and Judy Sisk, both of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Rudolph Crenshaw.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Howard Thompson with the family receiving friends following the service. Entombment will be at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.

The Crenshaw family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Jennifer Garst and her staff at Durham Regional Medical Center for the care given to Mr. Crenshaw.
