Roger Stanfield Obituary
Roger graduated Cum Laude from North Carolina A&T State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management. He would become a great supporter of Aggie Athletics and served as Vice-President of the Aggie Athletic Foundation.
Roger was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ where he served on various organizations including the trustee board, the culinary ministry, the Young Adult Choir as well as the Youth Department.
Roger was a licensed general contractor and developer. He worked with HUD for several years before going into the business for himself. He constructed several projects including, the Sertoma building at North Park, the ECCO Building at Ebenezer UCC, Robin Heights in Green Level, Blackwell Funeral Home and various homes, churches and apartments in North Carolina.
Roger served 13 years on the Board of Education for the Alamance-Burlington School System. He also served in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and loved spoiling his daughter and grandson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years: Sarah S. Stanfield; daughter: Robin Michelle Stanfield, grandson: Nicholas Jalen Lea, siblings: Eugene "Bo" Stanfield, Artis Stanfield (Sharon) and Dorothy DeBerry as well as a host of relatives, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Otha Stanfield, Clara Stanfield Griffis, Katleen S. Dodd, Ruthie Mae Clark and Jennie L. Shaw.
Public viewing will be held from 1-8pm in the Roy Blackwell Chapel on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 1pm at Ebenezer United Church of Christ on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park at 11am on December 31st. Condolences may be posted to blackwellfuneral.com. Services entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home. Wearing mask is mandatory for services due to COVID19.

Roger Stanfield was a great friend. I've known his family since childhood. We graduated high school together. My sincere condolences to his family. So sorry for your loss. I work in the Construction Industry. I have been it the Truss Industry for 39 Years and did a lot of Jobs for Roger over the years. He was always very nice to work with and did a lot of work building, Churches, Day Care Buildings and Houses all over North Carolina. I spoke to Roger a few months ago about a big storage building he was figuring for somebody. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. God's Blessings to the Family during this hard time. Jr. Kernodle
