Elaine Carlan

Elaine Josefina Carlan,
age 71, of Toccoa, passed
away Sunday, Aug. 11,
2024 from a sudden onset
illness.
A daughter of the late
Dewitt D. Carlan and Jose-
fina Balzac Carlan, she
was born Nov. 29, 1952 at
Ramey Air Force Base,
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
She grew up in Homer, Ga.
She was a graduate of
Banks County High
School, class of 1970, a
graduate of North Georgia
College in 1974 and a grad-
uate of Georgia State Uni-
versity and Crawford
Long Hospital in 1975 with
a certificate in medical
technology. She retired
from Emory University
Hospital Systems in 2015
and in 2017 moved to Toc-
coa. She was of the
Catholic faith. She was
preceded in death by her
parents and by a brother,
Ronald Carlan.
Survivors include her
sister, Brenda Carlan of
Toccoa; nieces, Tamera
Owens and Quintina
(Chris) Roberts of Toccoa;
great-nieces and nephew,
AuBree Jackson, Vivian
and Rhett Roberts of Toc-
coa; numerous cousins;
and her sweet loving cat,
Grey.
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Thurs-
day, Aug. 15, 2024, from 6-8

Church Cemetery.
