Howell Lindon Brown

Howell Lindon Brown,
age 83, passed away peace-
fully at home on Saturday,
Sept. 6, 2025. He was the
son of the late James Hen-
ry and Agnes Cromer
Brown. He was born on
March 8, 1942, in Stephens
County, where he lived
most of his life.
Mr. Brown was a re-
tired supervisor from
Coats and Clark. He was a
member of the Toccoa Na-
tional Guard Unit for sev-
en years, earning a medal
for sharpshooting. He
helped with the building
of Glad Tidings Assembly
of God (Encounter
Church), where he served
on the Board for a number
of years. At the time of
death, he was a member of
The Pointe Church of God.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by a daughter,
Rhonda Lynn Brown,
brothers; James, Jr., and
Billy Joe Brown.
He is survived by his
wife of 60 years, Jo West-
moreland Brown; a son
and daughter-in-law, Don-
ald and Laura Brown, of
Toccoa; three grandchil-
dren, Sebastian, Kathryn,
and Robyn Brown; two sis-
ters-in-law, Shelia West-
moreland, of Toccoa, and
Charlotte West, of
Charleston, S.C.; two
brothers-in-law, Bob West-
moreland, of Toccoa, and
Ray Wells, of Dallas, Ga.;
and several nieces and
nephews.
The family will receive
friends at the mortuary
from 6-8 p.m. Thursday,
Sept. 11, 2025.
Funeral services will be
held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept.
12, 2025, at The Pointe
Church with Rev. Chad
Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at
Stephens Memorial Gar-
dens.
The following gentle-
men will serve as pallbear-
ers: Bob Westmoreland,
Kevin McCurry, Danny
Thomason, Keith McCur-
ry, Charles Poole, and Joe
Pendergrast.
