Kathryn Steele Obituary
Patterson Steele, age 90, of
W. Currahee Street, Toc-
coa, entered the presence
of her Lord and Savior on
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at
the Stephens County Hos-
pital, surrounded by her
family.
A daughter of the late
Ottice Bascom Patterson
and Wilma Lucille Tolbert
Patterson, she was born
Aug. 18, 1935 in Hall Coun-
ty, Ga., before moving to
Toccoa and graduating
from Toccoa High in 1953.
She married Thomas
Steele who was in the Air
Force and moved to Sali-
na, Kan., before moving
back to Toccoa in 1959. She
retired from Lovetts Jew-
elry Store with 40 years of
service as a sales asso-
ciate. She was a member of
the Christian Church in
her early years before
joining Carnes Creek Bap-
tist Church, where she
served as a nursery work-
er for several years. She
loved cooking for her fami-
ly and was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother.
In addition to her par-
ents, she was preceded in
death by a sister, Dorothy
Defoor and by two broth-
ers, Rhuel Patterson and O
B Patterson. She was the
last member of her imme-
diate family.
Survivors include her
husband, Thomas Steele of
Toccoa; son and daughter-
in-law, Mark and Tricia
Steele of Atlanta, Ga.;
daughter and son-in-law,
Rita and Joe Sewell of Toc-
coa; six grandchildren and
several great-grandchil-
dren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be
Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, 2
p.m. in the Hillcrest
Chapel of the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home with the
Rev. Brett Sanders officiat-
ing. The following family
members will serve as
pallbearers; David Hol-
brook, Mark Holbrook,
Robert Thomas Steele,
Parker Holbrook, Lucus
Holbrook, Maya Ann
Steele, Amelia Holbrook
and Haley Steele Houser.
The family will receive
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Thurs-
day from 12 p.m. until the
service time. Online con-
dolences may be left for
the family at www.acree-
davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in
the Carnes Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery with the
Acree-Davis Funeral
Home and Crematory in
charge of the arrange-
ments for Mrs. Kathryn
Juanita Patterson Steele.
