William Buren Stowe

Mr. William Buren
Stowe, age 96, of Martin,
Ga., passed away Friday
Aug. 1, 2025, at his resi-
dence.
A son of the late Robert
and Anna Adams Stowe,
he was born Oct. 17, 1928,
in Stephens County, Geor-
gia, where he lived all of
his life. He retired from
Coats and Clark with a
number of years of ser-
vice. He was a member of
Tom's Creek Baptist
Church and was a veteran
of the United States Army.
He enjoyed farming and
was a loving father, grand-
father, great-grandfather
and great-great grandfa-
ther.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his wife; Betty El-
rod Stowe, daughter; Bev-
erly Stowe Patterson,
grandson; Paul Ben Patter-
son III, sisters; Viola
Brock, Estelle McCurley,
Pauline Stowe, and Win-
nie Lee Moore, and broth-
er, Lester Stowe.
Survivors include his
grandsons; Kurt Patter-
son, of Lavonia, and Clint
and Renee Canady, of Mar-
tin; great-grandchildren,
Austin Abbs, Clint Canady
Jr, Riley Canady, Mada-
line Patterson, Cole Patter-
son, and Lane Patterson;
great-great grandchildren,
Callie Canady, Kacey
Canady, Maverick Abbs,
and Oakley Abbs; several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be
held Saturday, Aug. 9,
2025, at 2 p.m. at Tom's
Creek Baptist Church with
the Rev. Wayne Marcus
and the Rev. Bill Stacey of-
ficiating. The following
gentlemen will serve as
pallbearers; Bruce Adams,
Kyle Adams, Tim Stowe,
Jason Stowe, Steve Keel-
ing and James Pace.
The family will receive
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Satur-
day from 12-1:30 p.m. On-
