Kendall,Fern , FiFi, Jane & E.Hope, What a wonderful Lady, Ms. Billie was. I was fortunate to have known her, your dad & Uncle I.B.,Aunt Mary & the entire family, since 1982, when I went to work for them at Ryland Dodge, here in Bunkie. When I learned of her passing, I was heart broken that I was not able to go to the visitation, nor the funeral. My husband , Irving, is very ill & there was no way I could leave him alone. Your parents were a Huge part of my life for the entire 22 years I worked for them. I want all of you to know that she comes to my mind Very often. A couple of years after I went to work for them, she and your dad went on a Dodge-Chrysler trip to Spain & Portugal. The day they left, they stopped by the dealership &she came to me desk & told me that she was going to bring me " a Pretty" back from their trip & I remember telling her that she could just bring me a rock from there. Instead, she brought me the Most Beautiful Hand Painted hand held fan, from Portugal. I want ya'll to know that the fan is still in the same pristine condition as when she gave it to me; in the same "Portugal gift bag". I use it every week when I go to church, because it is sometimes too warm for me. It Never ceases to bring compliments & people always want to know Where I got it & I Love telling them the story of how I came to receive it & from whom I got it. I would often , after Mass, call her to tell he I was still using it, & Imagine!, this fan is now over 32 years old !. Thank ALL of you for " sharing" your parents with me & I will Always have them in my thoughts, memories & prayers. They always made me feel as though I WAS an " Honorary Ryland"..My prayers are with you all , but what Amazing , lasting heart felt memories you all have of her & your dad.....Thanks ! Judy Fontenot

It was a wonderful priviledge to have been in Mrs. Ryland's Sunday school class as she taught the bible and how to create church. Mrs Ryland included each one of us in her band of friends. She was a mentor who taught us by example and graciously shared her knowlege, love and comfort to each person who walked into our church house . Her kindness and smile will be missed by anyone who knew her.

At this most difficult time, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Billie Alice seemed to be quite a character, as we had the privilege of being around her several times. She and Evert were blessed with a large family who carries on their legacy. Knowing how fun the Roses are as a family, we can't imagine how crazy it must be when all the Rylands get together.
May God's peace be with you.

You will be in my heart forever. You taught me so many things about my faith, life, cooking, and how to make iced tea. I was lucky to have chosen you as my 2nd mother, but it was really you that picked me and accepted me and loved me like I was one of your own. Your love for you church was only outdone by the love for your family...and me. You have made a difference in my life and I am forever grateful to God for allowing our paths to cross. Rest in Peace Mrs. Ryland. And save me a seat next to you and a cup of coffee.
