David Payne Spence

Funeral services for David Payne Spence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Ashley McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at the funeral Home on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

David Payne Spence, 68, of Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at CHRISTUS St, Frances Cabrini Hospital.

David was a graduate of Springhill High School, and an under graduate of ULM (formerly North East). He graduated with his law degree from LSU. David practiced law with Provosty Sadler and deLaunay Law Firm; and then his independent practice until his death. He was a past president of the Alexandria Bar Association, and served on several other boards of service organizations. David attended First United Methodist Church of Alexandria. He loved to garden and was a member of the Alexandria Golf and Country Club. He will always be known for his great smile and funny wit.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Louise Nunnally Spence of Alexandria; his son, David P. Spence and his wife Tammy of Lewiston, NY; his daughters, Caroline Spence Mansour and her husband Steve of Alexandria, and Anna Louise Spence of New Orleans; 4 grandchildren, Mazzy and Benjamin; and Hunter and Camille; and 4 brothers, Aubrey Lee Spence (Ann), Raymond Spence (Kathy), George Spence, and John Spence.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Hunter Mansour, Steven Mansour, Brenner Sadler, Michael Brame, Tommy Bolton, and Scotty Stevens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
