James Marvin Girod, Sr.

Funeral services for James Marvin Girod Sr., of Jonesville will be held at Mayna Church of God on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10 AM with Bro. Lloyd Trisler officiating. Interment will follow at Pala Alto Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

James Girod, Sr. was born on Sept. 3,1934 and passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Jonesville. He was a resident of Jonesville, retired after 43 years with Armstrong Tire, and was a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt and spending time in the outdoors with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Gerald and Alice Girod Wife, Marie Girod, sister-Joyce Marie Girod.

Survivors include his son, James Girod, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Jonesville, son, Douglas "Boody" Girod Sr. and his wife Debra of Rosefield, daughter-Vickie McCaskill and her husband Charles of Madisonville; six grandchildren, Heath McCaskill, Christy Girod, Douglas Girod, Jr., Shelly Gautreaux, Terence Girod and Adam Girod; one step-grandson, Justin Meredith; sister-Irma Shell of Baton Rouge. He was also survived by six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be George White Jr., Jonathon Smith, Doug Girod Jr., Heath McCaskill, Shelby Carr and Marvin McLain

Honorary Pallbearers will Jess McLain, Terence Girod, Adam Girod and Randy White.

The family will receive friends at Mayna Church of God from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013.
