Robert Andrew Wolf

Robert Andrew Wolf, who was presented a special award by the Central Louisiana Board of Realtors for more than fifty years of dedicated service to the industry, has died at the age of 85.

Mr. Wolf died at his home in Alexandria. He was a graduate of Menard High School and attended L.S.U. Listed are some of the highlights of his long and distinguished career.

In 1964, Robert was the first realtor in the city to be designated an accredited farm broker by The National Institute of Farm Brokers. He was graded on character, integrity, sincerity of purpose, and experience, in addition to a written examination on farm economics, phraseology, legal definition, and brokerage.

In 1967, Wedgewood, a residential area within the Alexandria city limits, was developed by Robert Wolf and John Wasson. In 1970, Melrose Plantation was sold by Robert Wolf and John Wasson. This plantation was home to Francois Mignon, artist and writer, and Clementine Hunter, painter. The sale of the plantation represented one of the largest financial transactions involving plantation property in the history of North Central Louisiana.

Robert was the co-developer and co-owner of The Centre, located at Jackson and Dorchester Streets. On May 6, 1974, Robert was awarded the Member of Appraisal Institute designation of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. M.A.I. members have qualified for this distinction by a minimum of seven years of work, education and experience, accomplished by attending courses in income, producing properties, commercial and industrial properties, and structure of real estate investments.

In April 1980, Robert was named Executive of The Year by the LaPine Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. He was a past president of the Alexandria - Pineville Board of Realtor, Inc.; and in December 1984, was awarded Realtor of the Year by the board. Robert and Scotty Stevens represented the Cappel Family Estate as brokers of the site sold to Union Bank Car Company.

Mr. Wolf is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Andrew Wolf; and his sister, Maemarye Wolf Parker.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Wise Pitts Wolf; his daughter, Jennifer Stevens and husband Louis Scott Stevens and their children, Robert Louis Stevens and Jennifer Stevens Hamilton; his son, Robert Andrew Wolf, III, and wife, Mary Anne and their children, Stephen Wolf, and Caroline Wolf Domingue; step-son, Gerald Andrew Newburger; and six great grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Zachary, Camile, and Nanette Hamilton, and Leah Stevens

Robert is also survived by his brother, William Wolf; his brother-in-law, Stephen Parker; sisters-in-law, Isabel Miller and husband, Huie Miller, and Charlot Morrison and husband Dr. Robert Morrison.

The family asks that memorials be made in honor of Mr. Wolf, to the charity of the donor's choice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, with Rev. Dan O'Connor officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
