Eric Grenfell Rodriguez, son of Hector and Debra Rodriguez of Grass Valley, CA. passed away on February 28, 2023. He died peacefully in his sleep of a cardiac arrest at Auburn Faith Hospital. He had battled bone infections for years after becoming a paraplegic at age 16. He is now free from suffering and pain.

Eric was born in Los Angeles, CA. His young years he spent in Rosemead, Baldwin Park and San Dimas, CA. where he enjoyed playing baseball, swimming, camping, and skateboarding with family and friends. He also began playing the saxophone and his love for the Dodgers began.

He moved to Nevada County for 8th grade where he lived in Lake Wildwood for two years. He attended Pleasant Valley School, swam on the swim team, played baseball, and enjoyed the lake. Later he attended Nevada Union High School living in Cedar Ridge. He played the saxophone and drums in the marching band and jazz band. He played Nevada Union Miner football under Coach Blankenship. After his accident, he went to Shriner's hospital for rehab. where he was able to attend an East West football game and meet the players. After returning to Nevada County, with the help of many church family to ready the house, Eric was embraced by the football team and he became their manager.

After high school Eric moved to Whittier, CA. where he attended Rio Hondo College and studied contract/probate law and journalism and was a news and sports writer for the school paper, El Paisano. Later he would attend Fullerton State College where he studied Journalism/Photography and Mass Communications. He was Sports Editor/Writer for 5 semesters for the Hornet Newspaper and PC Computer Lab Manager for 7 semesters.

Eric is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service at Twin Cities Church, Monday, April 17th at 1 PM. Following the service a reception will be held at the church.
