James Marich Obituary

James Marich

September 13, 1957 – December 12, 2024

Where do we begin? Mr. Rooter 2003-2020. Or JAM septic 2021-2023. Captain Jim, Chef Jim, Gardener Jim, Honey bee Jim, Woodworker Jim. Incredible Dad to Kelly (Lutz) wonderful husband to Lindsay.

Jim was our all. He is survived by his Brother Douglas (Janice), Sister Connie (Robert) Britain, a slew of nieces and nephews and their beautiful families.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on October 12th 2022. We were devastated.

He had amazing doctors from Sutter and the Auburn infusion center workers were all rooting for Jim. So young...too young for such a horrible disease.

He fought back hard. We got 2 years extra due to their diligence and his strength. Alas, it wasn't enough. Hospice arrived at our home October 2024. I, Lindsay, was by his side to the end.

It has taken awhile to even think about Jim's obituary. No way to put here how amazing our love kept growing. Our beautiful neighbors Scott, Danielle and Maeve have been a blessing and are still here for me. So happy to have met this man and he was waiting for me for 4 years.

He saw a picture on my parents refrigerator in 1998 of me with a 20 lb. salmon. Kelly and I had been back in California since 2001. We met in 2002 on our way to an AA meeting. I was with my dad and Jim recognized me from that picture, he saw once, in 1998. He said I know you. We were engaged 3 months later. Married on March 15, 2003 and opened Mr. Rooter of Nevada County in Sept. 2003. He was so wonderful to Kelly. Our love was so strong. Love at first sight is real. Cancer Sucks.

A beautiful tribute for a wonderful brother . I have cherished memories of Jim my younger brother building forts and walking in a creek catching pollywogs when we were kids . I was proud of the person Jim was . We could always count on Jim to be there for
everyone . He had a kind heart , was considerate , giving and encouraging. He loved animals. His steer won grand champion at a county fair while in High School with FFA. He loved his dogs also . He will always be in our hearts. We love you Lindsay and Kelly . God Bless

Lindsay, I met Jim About 25 years ago when I needed a plumber. We clicked right away and learned we had many things in common. Along the way, we discovered we both were AA members. Along the way, we continued our budding friendship and enjoyed his great fishing expeditions. I was very happy for him when he met a very nice lady named Lindsay whom I later enjoyed meeting when I sold cigars to the both of you.

Our coffee pot will always open to you and him alike.
