George Hockensmith Obituary

George Russell Hockensmith passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. surrounded by his daughter, step-daughter and caretaker.
He was predeceased by his late wife Patsy Rose Hockensmith.
He is survived by sister, Ginger Gastaldo; step-daughter Kelly Danner; caretaker Christy Harbin, and daughter Allyson Swart.
There are not enough words to describe my dad. He was retired U.S. Navy vet. George's love of life was infectious. His journey included love, music, storytelling, helping people, and numerous beautiful friendships. His heart of love for watching sunsets will live through many lives he has touched. "If you're lost, you can look and you will find me, time after time." (Eve Cassidy)
I will always love you, Dad, and being in each other's lives has made me a better person. I am beyond grateful we found each other. Jam on, baby, jam on!
With love, your daughter,
Allyson Swart

Dear George, I am so sad to hear of your passing, and on my birthday, no less. Finding and meeting you was my life's dream, and it finally happened December 2022. That was the best Christmas present I've ever received. Your grandkids and I fell in love with you right away. I'm so thankful for the stories you shared with me. I will cherish them forever. I only regret not finding you sooner. Love you!
