O.M. Raker Obituary
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Raker Nelson, his sisters Eldred Karker, Marjorie Onkey, and brother Warren Council Raker.
Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Hinkle Mustian Raker, his daughters Connie Willis, Brenda Koss and Gwen Raker, and sons, David Raker and Kurt Raker Mustian (Robin), seven grandchildren,: Deanna Slep (Brian), Valerie DeBray (David), Becky Crews (Derek), Danny Willis (Jessica), Sean Mustian (Hannah), Bethany Hixson (Derek), and Cara Raker, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
After retiring from Florida Highway Patrol with 29 years of service, he continued to serve the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office for 15 more years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and travelling. He and his wife RVed all over the country, traveling to all 50 states and many other countries.
While dearly missed by all who have known and loved him here, he has joined the worship now of heaven. By faith in the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ, he has now received his promised reward of an eternal home prepared just for him (John 14:1-3). He now knows the trustworthy faithfulness of his Savior. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4;7). His faith has finally become sight.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held Saturday, December 14 at 2 pm at Lake Ellen Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone NC 28607.

So sad but rejoicing to hear that Jimmie has crossed to the other side. He´s having a great reunion with his family that have gone before him. He´ll be missed by those that were blessed to be close to him and those that only saw him sporadically. He was always kind to me, a younger Council cousin. A smile always comes to me when I hear his name. Praying for his Jane and all of his immediate family.
