Carmen Fonseca Obituary
She was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on July 20, 1923.
Carmen and her family lived in New York City for many years, and retired to Puerto Rico, and moved to Westerly over six years ago to be near their beloved and devoted daughter, Eleanor.
Carmen will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and for her excellent cooking for her many family member and friends over the years.
Besides her husband of over 65 years, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Eleanor Davis, of Westerly; and her son, Calixto "Cal" Fonseca Jr., of Arizona. She was the loving grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of four. She also leaves her brother, Andino Rivera, of Pennsylvania.
The Fonseca family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, Dec. 1 (TODAY), from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, R.I. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at St. Pius X. Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, R.I.

Miss Elly and family, We are so sad to here of the passing of your mom. She was a very sweet lady and we enjoyed every meeting that we had we her and your father.
