Carole Dolock Obituary

CHARLESTOWN - Carole Beth (Bayer) Dolock, beloved wife, mother, Nona, aunt and dear friend to many, entered into eternal rest and the grace of our Lord on Dec. 19th, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carole was born in New York City, NY on Sept. 21st, 1943.
Carole was a 30 year resident of Charlestown, R.I., a town that she loved dearly for its beauty and many amazing people.
Carole is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joseph Stephen Dolock, her four children, Jordan Dolock, Bethany Dolock, Arianna Dolock and Alexis (Dolock) Schonrog as well as her son in law, Kevin Schonrog, and her two grandsons, Elijah and Ezrah Schonrog.
Carole was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, 1965, where she studied to be an English teacher. She taught High School English for several years in New York, before moving to R.I. In Rhode Island she taught for many years at St. Mary's Home for Children.
Carole was a 17-year member of the Charlestown Juvenile Hearing Board and was recognized earlier this year for her many years of dedicated service to this organization.
Carole will forever be remembered by many for her amazing strength and kindness, her sense of humor, her love and talent for being an amazing cook, her love of literature and music and her immense love of dogs, both hers and everyone else's.
Carole was a communicant and lector at St. James Chapel in Charlestown R.I.
A Mass of Celebration will be held at St. James Chapel at 2079 Matunuck School House Rd. in Charlestown, R.I., at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 7th. A reception will follow at Meadowbrook Inn, in Charlestown.
In lieu of flowers it was her wish that donations be made to the Charlestown Ambulance Corp or Heifer International, as both these organizations were near and dear to her.
