Helen B. Danie

1923 - 2023

Helen B. (Kuczynski) Danie, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Westerly, RI. Born December 15, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena (Ciborowski) Kuczynski, she spent the first sixty-one years of her life in Springfield before realizing her dream of retiring to RI. A graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1941, Helen held various secretarial positions, including Clerk-Stenographer for the Investigative Division of the U.S. Government Office of Price Administration in Springfield, and the U.S. Air Force at Bradley Field in Windsor Locks, CT. In 1967, Helen became the secretary to the first Dean of Faculty at Springfield Technical Institute (later STCC), a position she held and loved until her retirement in 1984. She was predeceased in 1990 by her loving husband, Leo H. "Pete" Danie, whom she will now join in eternal life. She was also predeceased by her brother, Edward Kuczynski, and her sister, Alfreda "Tedge" Sokolowski. Helen is survived by her daughter Diane B. Diamond and husband Wayne T. Diamond, of Westerly, RI, and her son Robert J. Danie and wife Pamela M. Danie, of Feeding Hills, MA. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Allison (Diamond) Camacho, Lauren (Diamond) Brommelhoff, Brian Beglane, and Kevin Danie; and eight greatgrandchildren, Samantha, Pedro, Emma, Filipe, Kristen, Luke, Madison, and Palmer. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Helen will be held Tuesday, November 21st, with a calling hour from 9-9:45AM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Committal service and burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
