James McQuaide Obituary

WATERFORD, ME - James A. McQuaide Sr., 83, formerly of Charlestown, peacefully passed away at home February 17, 2026. Born May 6, 1942, to the late Helen and Arthur McQuaide. James worked for South County Sand & Gravel for 36 years. He was a member of the Masons and the Local 57. James (Herm) loved racing cars, snowmobiling and a good ole fashion pop in to say hello. While touring the entire USA he always found an adventure that he couldn't wait to share with us. Above all else he always prioritized family. He is survived by his children: Sonja Bean, Doreen Reilly, James Jr., Tom, Ed and Gina Weber along with their spouses; Sisters Jane Frink and Betty Petrowski; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was the former husband of Joanne Almeida McQuaide and Joan Kaiser McQuaide, and brother to the late Dell Lewis, Marlene Robar, and Arthur (Tink) McQuaide.

A celebration of his remarkable life will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Dunn's Corners Community Church, Presbyterian. In lieu of flowers please donate to shrinerschildren's.org
