To the Murphy Family,
I think I speak on behalf of Ryan's entire LSU and Acacia family, sending our deepest condolences to you all. Ryan, or Big Murph as we called him, was an amazing individual with a heart bigger than any guy we ever knew. He had the ability to light up an entire room with laughter at the drop of a hat. The guys and I have been spending the past week reminiscing on all of the great times we spent with Ryan, sharing stories of him, stories he would tell us, and sharing some of his best one liners and jokes. Big Murph had an impact on every guy in our fraternity at LSU and anyone he came into contact with. We will all miss him dearly.
I've spent the last week crying, laughing, and smiling, remembering Ryan. Even with Ryan in Boston, over 1,500 miles away from us here in NOLA, Ryan always stayed in touch. Whether it be through Snapchat, Facebook, texts/calls, and even FaceTime, he was always there. I think this just speaks to what a great guy and friend Ryan was. No matter the distance, he always made an effort to keep his LSU family close to him.
It's still tough to understand how Ryan could be taken from his family and friends at such a young age, but we all know that God has a greater purpose for us all, and I know Ryan's up their with him right now, smiling down on all of us. This challenging time has definitely brought us all closer together. It reminds us to care more for each other and hold our loved ones close, every day.
Though Ryan is gone, he will never be forgotten. His legend lives on everyday and we will make sure of that.
With love,
Ryan's LSU Family

Dexter & Pearl, My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I didn't personally know Ryan. I was working with you Dexter, at Coastal Management, when he was born. The Lord has taken Ryan at such a young age. Some day we will be able to understand why. God bless you all.

Dear Pearl, Dexter, and Brendan,
We are so sorry to learn of Ryan's passing. We always enjoyed any of the times we had the chance to interact with him. We watched him grow from a boy into a good man. And we know how much he loved his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

I met Ryan through Quinn Early and he quickly became my friend, too. His smile could light up a room. I am forever thankful for his hospitality last December when he was our personal tour guide of Boston. I will be praying for you all, Murphy family.

Ryan Murphy was a dear friend of the Early Family. His quick wit, beautiful smile, and self-proclaimed gift of the gab was sure to light up a room. We have never met a person that was as genuine and cared so deeply for others as Ryan. As much as Ryan loved visiting Louisiana, we loved having him more. Our deepest condolences to the Murphy Family.
