Wesley Hall Obituary

CHARLESTOWN - Wesley Allan Hall, 87, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015 in Northfield, Vt.

Wesley was born in Providence, R.I. on March 15, 1928, son of Wesley Kilborn and Bertha Dexter (Peacock) Hall. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946–1947 and graduated with a B.A. from Brown University in 1951. He married Joan Fenner (Stapelton) in 1953. They enjoyed extensive travels together in the U.S. and abroad. Wesley graduated with an M.A. from the University of Colorado in 1963. He retired as a school administrator from the West Hartford, Conn. public school system. Wes and Joan moved to Johnson, Vt. in 1990. Married for 54 years, they enjoyed time at their summer home in Charlestown, R.I. and traveling to visit friends and family around New England and beyond. Joan predeceased Wesley in 2007.

Surviving family include his sister, Marion Dearborn Oliva, of Michigan; three daughters, Gwendolyn Hallsmith and husband, Michael, of Montpelier, Vt., Gaylynn Huyghebaert and husband, Tom, of Royalton, Vt., and Gretchen Bristol and husband, David, of Sheffield, Vt.; three grandchildren, Jessica Huyghebaert, Kelsey Huyghebaert, and Dylan Hallsmith; one nephew; and three nieces. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Charlestown at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. The burial will be at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingston, R.I.
