Chen, Mao-Hsiung

Mao-Hsiung Chen, 77, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio in the company of his family. Born in Taiwan, Mao-Hsiung was the oldest of four children raised by the late Yung-Feng Chen and Tzu-Yen Chen. He graduated from National Taiwan University in 1965 with a degree in medicine, then completed his medical training at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Mao-Hsiung will be forever remembered by his wife, Ying-Hsueh; his two sons, Michael (Arlene) and Donald (Jennifer); and his three grandchildren, Sierra, Griffin and Toby. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Shu-Wan (Gary) Wang; his nieces and nephews, and many extended relatives. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew C.N. Chen and sister Shu-Chen Chang. Mao-Hsiung was an accomplished bridge player, and loved travelling, gardening, and reading. My husband, Gordon, had a heart attack at 45 years of age; we were scared; but he was taken to Grant Hospital and treated by Dr. Chen--we thought (and still do) he is a wonderful doctor. My husband is 78 today and has had no additional problems since then. We really loved Dr. Chen! Thanks for him and his great bedside manner and, of course, for his wonderful treatment of my husband.
