Tivadar Mohacsi Obituary

Mohacsi, Tivadar
1937 - 2018
Tivadar "Ted" Mohacsi passed away at his home in Worthington, Ohio at the age of 80. He was born in Hungary on March 23, 1937 to the late Tivadar and Iren Mohacsi. He received a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Szeged University of Sciences. Tivadar defected from communist Hungary to the United States in 1980 with his wife and two daughters. He retired from Abbott Labs in 1997. He loved chemistry and enjoyed his work very much. During his youth, he enjoyed swimming and judo. In later years, he loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Tivadar was an avid reader, enjoyed playing chess, and had a fondness for traditional Hungarian food and good wine. Family will welcome guests for a Celebration of Life memorial service from 1-2:30 pm on Monday, April 9 at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 High St, Columbus, Ohio 43085. I'm very sorry to learn of Ted's passing, and wish to offer my condolences to his family. I had the privilege to work with Ted for fifteen years; his knowledge of chemistry and the scientific literature was remarkable, and his sense of humor was phenomenal. May he rest in peace.
