Adam Tucker McElroy, 44, of Nashville, Tennessee, died on March 9, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Liles McElroy; his parents, Frank and Kathy McElroy of Princeton; his grandmother, Dollie Murphy; his uncles Brian Murphy and Gregg Murphy and their families; his aunt Diane Moore (Bruce) and their family, and many other family members and friends.
Tucker was a gentle, kind soul who walked through this uncertain world with a strong and abiding love for his wife, Anna, and each person in his family. He was a loyal and supportive friend; and a creative and dedicated worker.
Tucker was born in Bowling Green, in 1977, and grew up in Lexington with his parents. He enjoyed family adventures at his grandparents' farm in western Kentucky, camping and hiking with Scouts and friends, swimming and baseball and he held a black belt in Kung Fu. He was an avid reader and intelligent conversationalist on most any subject.
After two years at the University of Kentucky, his love of the mountains took him to Asheville, North Carolina; where he met his beautiful wife, Anna K. Liles. Together, they had many wonderful adventures; traveling, enjoying music, loving their dogs and cats, and sharing a love for food, fun and life itself.
Tucker was a brilliant chef, and loved to experiment with and learn about new food and drink. His career in the restaurant and wine business was a perfect fit for his interests and talents.
Like his Dad and many of the McElroy men who came before him, Tucker had a strong interest in the politics of the day, as well as the history of the world and was a brilliant mind on any of these matters.
He loved music, and from his early days of listening to albums with his parents, piano and cello lessons, and bluegrass from his grandfather; he had a lifelong love of music and musicians.
Tucker was a gentle, affectionate, loving person. If you were ever fortunate enough to receive one of his "bear" hugs, you knew you had been properly hugged and you were truly loved. He will be so missed in all of our lives.
The family will be holding a private celebration of his life.
