Robert Dale Stroh, 85, Valley City, ND, passed away at CHI Mercy Hospital June 1, 2025. He will be laid to rest in the ND Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND, at a later date. Robert "Bob" was born January 25, 1940, in Eureka, SD to Theodore and Emma (Engel) Stroh.  He started school in Streeter, ND. In 1952, the family moved to Valley City where he graduated from Valley City High School in 1958.  Throughout his schooling, he was active in football, basketball, and American Legion baseball.

Bob entered the United States Air Force in November 1959 and honorably discharged in May 1963.  Upon his return to the States, he became a North Dakota Highway Patrol Officer and later moved to California.  While there, he began racing cars and working the pits for racing buddies.  Racing was his passion and in his blood!  He lived in California until 2005 at which time he and his wife, Mary, moved to Valley City.  During his lifetime Bob was a ferocious reader and a great conversationalist.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Christopher (Sarah); granddaughter, Brynn; and sister, Kathy.  His parents preceded him in death.
