Mike and Dian used to come into the feed store where I worked. He had such a great sense of humor and always teased back when I would call him "Smiling Mike". Mike had the best stories too. He and Dian were both very kind to me and I'll never forget it. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man who did a lot for the community and those around him.

So sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was a great American and a true friend to Eureka High NJROTC, where he shared his story with my Cadets. He was actually shot up in 3 B-17's, and ditched one in the English Channel before the time he was shot down and parachuted into Germany. I'm so proud to have known him and called him my friend.

He was creative, straight forward, and caring. He will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mike's passing. We became friends in the 60's in So. California while I was in the Air Force and Mike was a California Game Warden. He was a very special person, and will be very greatly missed. By the way, he not only wrote for Guns & Ammo magazine, he was the editor for several years.

My dad was a true hero. He served his country with honor and bravery. He taught us respect and service. He was very active in his community. On thing not mentioned was his time in Fortuna Kiwanis delivering meals on wheels to the elderly. He loved doing that. Many thanks to Dolly Frye and her excellent care for the last few years of his life. He is greatly missed
