God has another Angel Gladys Marie Prentiss Panama passed away May 15, 2013 at the Granada Care Home in Eureka, CA. She was 63. Gladys was born in Portsmouth, VA. She has lived in Ketchican, AK, Portland, ME, Staten Island and Governors Island, NY, Norfolk, VA, Wilmington, NC, Kodiak, AK, Silver Spring MD, Portland, OR. Her interests in life were spending time with her family and friends, cooking, canning, drawing & painting, being a deck hand when fishing with Mike and taking her canine baby Ralph to the doggy park. At the time of her passing, Gladys was employed by Humboldt County, CA. Her previous employment included National Bank of Alaska, First Bank, The Bon Marche Store, and Setji Cleaning Service all in Ketchikan, AK and as a Tour Bus driver telling all the people about Ketchikan's history. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Louise Prentiss and her sister Virginia (Ginger) Prentiss, all of Ketchikan, AK. She is survived by her daughters Charlene Miller of Juneau, AK, and Laurie Panama (Andrew) Mesch of Arcata, CA; her beloved granddaughter Scarlet Panama also of Arcata, CA; her sisters Norma (Ken) Creamer of Sitka, AK, Rebecca (Becky) (Ole) Mahle of Kodiak, AK, and Bonnie (Harry) Farmer of Florence, MS; her brothers: W.E. (Ed) (Carol) Booth of Auburn, WA and James (Jim) (Maureen) Prentiss of Manchester, NH; her ex husband and very good friend Michael Panama, of Ketchikan, AK; numerous nieces and nephews; and too many great friends to list. Gladys will be missed so very much by her family and many friends whom her loving heart has touched over her too short life on earth.
