Isabel J. Parker, age 85, of Leavenworth, WA, and a former resident of Eureka, California, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, March 10, 2004, surrounded by her children, at the Cashmere (Washington) Convalescent Center.
She was born Isabel Jean Miller to George Harry and Isabella Jane (Law) Miller on November 23, 1918, in Northfield, Minnesota. She grew up on a 140 acre farm, where she developed a great love of animals during her childhood. Isabel graduated from Northfield High School in 1936, and then she attended Business College in Lakeview, Minnesota.
She later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she met and married the love of her life, William F. “Bill” Parker, on December 30, 1938.
Isabel was a wonderful, talented homemaker who raised eight children. The steady and compassionate guidance she gave to our young lives and the supportive empathy we shared through the years is her children’s treasure. She also had a career at JC Pennys.
She is survived by her seven children and spouses: William G. “Bill” and Bobbie Parker of Newburgh, Indiana; Pamela and Tom Henson of Boise, ID; Steven J. and Karen Parker of Hamilton, MT; Mary Ellen and Tim Hansen of Leavenworth, WA; Robert A. “Bob” and Bobbi Parker of Eureka, CA; Kathline Martin of Medford, OR; and Cynthia and Kalani Roy of Kailua, Kona, HI. She is also survived by 19 treasured grandchildren and seventeen totally delightful great-grandchildren. And a special friend, Marie Grandy, of Granada Hills, CA.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Parker; daughter, Jean Parker; parents, George and Jeanie Miller; sisters, Agnes Buetow and Helen Lee; and a brother, Clair Miller.
