Lea Lorentzen Obituary

Lea N. Lorentzen 1945 - 2009 Lea N. Lorentzen entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 11, 2009. At her passing, she was surrounded by her family in her home. Lea loved Jesus with all of her heart and shared that love with all those she met. She had a favorite quote, "Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bells; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell." Lea enjoyed loving her family, dancing and her many dance friends. She also had a passion for working on her yard with her husband George. Lea is survived by her loving husband George. She was also blessed with six daughters, Jodi, Tara, Erin, Sara, Libby, and Marcy; a sister Corinne, thirteen grandchildren, a large extended family, many wonderful friends and "children" Merry and Jason Lewis. Lea is preceded in death by her parents Lillian and William Nienhouse and grandson Jeffrey. At the request of the family, there will be no memorial services. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Humboldt, Dr. Youn Kim of Stanford and her colleagues. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Humboldt. Sis,
I miss you more than words can say. Thank you for making me who I am today. You were not only my sister, you were my capable "substitute Mom" when our family needed one so bad, and you were my friend. Always my friend. You said in the last few days that you Loved me and to "Remember that Always"...that's is what I carry with me, Sis. I am so glad that God took you away from that disease and into his caring arms but I am so sad you had to leave us. I will miss your Laugh, your guidance and your love.

George, you blessed Lea's life in so many ways. She smiled because of you. Right to the end you could make her smile. and laugh. Your love for each other was so visible that I had to Thank God you were in her life each time I saw it. Thank you for taking care of my sister. You were my strength through the end...and hers.

Lea, we will meet you in Heaven. In the meantime, remember, you have to decorate my mansion -
in pastels - they don't have to match :)

Love, Corky

Mixed emotions flood over me as I acknowledge Lea's death. She is not gone. She will never leave my heart. I am happy that she is in peace and selfishly sad that I wont get to see her beautiful smile again until I get to heaven. She was a wonderful, generous woman who shared her faith with SO many of us!! We will always hold a special place in our hearts for Lea

George, it's been quite some time since I have seen you, but you, as well as some of the other guys from Huumboldt cross my mind often. I am so deeply wrought with sorrow for your loss. You were always one of my favorite people and to see this tragedy beset you brings me great pain. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Lea I am sure she was a fine person. The fact that you loved her bears that out to me. Again, George, please accept my most sincere condolences and know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. Take Care, Doug Turner

I am saddened to hear of my friend's passing and the pain she suffered BUT I know she's dancing, singing and playing her guitar again for the One Who gifted her! I loved her laugh. We spent many years together in ministry from Porterville CA to Eureka. Good times, wonderful memories. The
Sister's House in Eureka was so blessed to have had Lea "Mom" for those years. What wonderful seed she planted that will bear fruit for years. I will miss talking to her, emailing..BUT I am so thankful she is out of pain and w/ her First Love. George, thank you for loving Lea, enjoying Lea and making these past 7-8 yrs so wonderful for her!! I miss you Lea but look forward to laughing w/ you again.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
