MICHAEL DALE LANDING Michael Dale Landing, 65 unexpectedly passed away on May 3rd, 2018. Mike was born in Ashland, OR on January 11th, 1953 to Dale and Doreen Landing and moved to Eureka, CA at the age of 2. For those that knew Mike knew he was an amazing, father, friend, and co-worker. Mike worked for Sysco Foods of Sacramento for 41 years were he made lifelong friendships with his customers and co-workers throughout Eureka, Willow Creek, Weaverville and Hayfork. When Mike was not working he was an avid fisherman, hunter, and well known for his burnouts in his '57 Chevy. Since an early age Mike enjoyed hunting in places like Wyoming, Idaho, and the Trinity Alps. One of Mike's favorite hunting trips was to Idaho where he shot the largest moose of his life. At an early age Mike fell in love with fishing and spent the later part of his years fishing with one of his closest friends Steve Eskra on his boat catching salmon and halibut. These fishing trips were near and dear to Mike's heart and some of the happiest times he talked about. Mike's true love and passion were his three children, Amy, Krista, and Matt. Mike enjoyed attending the kids sporting events, traveling with his children during the summers, and spending time with his life long best friends Michael Marks and Dean Hamblin. Mike is survived by his children Amy Landing (Michael Cyphers), Krista Ranstrom (Shane), and Mathew Landing; mother Doreen Landing, sister Marla Landing (Charlie Bassett), and brother Gregg Landing; nephews Jack Senicola and Dale Landing; grandchildren Gannon and Taylor Cyphers, and Grandpuppies Tiko and Chinook; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and friends. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at the Sequoia Conference Center, 901 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, CA 95503 June 2nd, 2018 at 12pm. Worked Hard, Played Hard, Loved his Family more than anything and for the 50 years I knew him would do anything for a friend. Best part is he thought he was 6ft2in Tall and 240# and we never told him any different. I hope him and Daddy Dale are having a great talk

Dear Doreen, Marla & Gregg - I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Landing - O'Neill get-togethers were always so much fun - even if "Mikey Dale" did think I was a pesky one. I hope you have lots and lots of good memories to help during this painful time.

Dear Doreen, Marla and family, I am so sorry to hear of Michaels passing. Although I didn't personally know him, Doreen spoke of her children with love and admiration as I did her hair for many years. May God , family and friends help you through this terrible loss.
