Richard Jimenez Obituary

Richard Jimenez 57, of Sacramento, died Saturday, May 11, 2013. He courageously fought for six years after a double lung transplant due to a diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was extremely passionate about all aspects of life including running, reading, boxing, an occasional Harley ride and visiting the beach. Richard was constantly looking for another avenue of learning and ways to indulge in his desire for knowledge. He was born to Paul and Pauline Jimenez November 29, 1955 in Cloverdale, CA. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Jimenez; brothers Pablo, Robert, Marty; and sister Rosie; by six children: Amy and Jason Jimenez, of Las Vegas, NV; Richard Jimenez, Jr. and Christa Jimenez Suarez, of Eureka, CA; Zoe Jimenez and Anthony Verdugo, of Sacramento, CA; and by eleven grandchildren. He also is survived by the mother to his four oldest children, Pamela Carey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to UCSF Foundation, through their website https://makeagift.ucsf.edu/hospitals. I grew up with Ricky in Blue Lake, went to school with him @ Blue Lake Elem & Arcata High. Ricky was a good friend and was liked by all. I haven't seen him for years. He will always have a special place in my heart. I'll be praying for his family.
