Richard Curtis Knight

of Corvallis, Oregon passed away February 1, 2011 at age 73, with Lung Cancer. he was a resident of Humboldt County for 30 years. His wife Julia preceded him in death in 2003. Richard was born in Los Angeles, Ca on July 5, 1937 to Curtis Knight and Lucille Knight-Sheraske. As a youth, Richard enjoyed scouting and had attained its highest honor as an "Eagle Scout." After graduating from San Dieguito high school in Encinitas, Ca in 1955 he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country until he retired in 1974. Later, Richard worked for "Lazio's and Pacific Choice Seafood" for over 25 years before retiring in 2005. Richard loved his family and friends and particularly enjoyed fishing and camping together with them. Richard is survived by four children: son, Mickey Johnston, of Meriden, CT; daughter, Rhonda Greek of Augusta, GA and husband Brad Greek; daughter, Sherrie Warnow of Fortuna, CA and husband Steve Warnow; daughter Cindy Ostlund of Nice, Ca. His eight grandchildren: Jeremy, Barbara, David, Lance, Lisa, Brian, Brittney, Nicholas and Mandy Ostlund who preceded him in death. His four great grandchildren: Shane, Brody, Kimberly, and Simonne, his brother Gene Knight and wife Jan of Leaburg, Or. There will be a celebration of life memorial service at the Marina Yacht Club at 1 Marina Way, in Eureka adjacent to the Pacific Choice Seafood Co. on July 9th, Saturday at 11 am with Pastor Gene Knight of Leaburg, OR to officiate the ceremony.
