Steven Anglin Obituary

STEVEN "STEVE" HARVEY ANGLIN Steve, surrounded by family and friends, passed away on December 13, 2015 at the age of 65. Steve was born in Scotia to Teresa Margaret (Nunes) and Harvey Willie Anglin on May 27, 1950. He attended Arcata High School and later became an ironworker, working in Colorado and all over California. He joined is brother, Ken, in 1978 and together they opened Anglin Second Hand. They worked together up until June 2015 when Steve was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Steve married Regina Wood in 1984 and she remained at his side throughout his battle. He fought bravely and maintained a positive outlook. He always tried to make those around him comfortable. Steve had a strong faith in God which helped sustain him. One of his favorite places was the Seventh-day Adventist Church camp at Dyerville where he and Regina went every year. Steven always enjoyed mentoring young people whether through the church or as a long time member of the Eureka Judo & JuJitsu Club. He also loved woodworking and was a member of Humboldt Woodworking Society. He is survived by his wife, Regina; daughter, Annette McClaren; granddaughter, Jennifer and grandson, Christopher; brother, Ken and wife, Sharron Anglin; sister, Charlotte and husband, Richard Markwell and their daughters, Rain and Erica and their families; sister, Kathy Wynands and her daughers, Danyelle and Chandra; step-son Will and wife, Dawn Woodruff and their daughters, Tiffany and Marriah. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven; grandson, David Woodruff and brother-in-law Jeroen Wynands. The family wishes to thank all those who came to see Steve and also the customers who inquired about him. A special thanks to Hospice of Humboldt for their care and assistance during Steve's last few weeks. A celebration of life will be held at the Eureka Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4251 F Street, Eureka on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com under obituaries.

Daddy, your little girl misses you every day. I wish Heaven had phone service, because I would love to be able to talk to you. Every day to just check in & those late night calls when I ask your guidance, or I needed encouragement. You were always there for me. I am extremely Blessed to have You as my Daddy.

He was one of the black belts at my Dojo back in the 90's. He was a sweet man. I was in my teens when I met him. He was always very nice to me. I will miss him.

Steve was the best influence in my life. I had great conversations with him when I first met my husband and he helped me get through some rough spots. In 1988 he took pictures at our wedding reception. I enjoyed those pictures more than the professional photographer, mostly because he knew us and our friends, and really caught the joy. I furnished many homes with things from Anglin, and enjoyed going in to shop and chat over the years. We bought our kids first student desks there when they started school, and furnished our rec room with sturdy furniture they couldn't wreck. I took several self defense classes from him, and still have my pink kubuton. Steve made a big difference in the lives of so many people, he will be deeply missed. .

As a customer of the Anglin Family I always enjoyed talking with Steve, Ken, Mom and Dad. I found them all to be genuine good people with a great sense of humor and the ability to have fun. Steve, Dad and Mom gone from this world but never forgotten. Steve give a hug to dad and mom for me.

I am so glad I got to visit with Steve after he got back from the Bay area. Steve was a great person and a light in a dark world. All Steve's family are great people. I enjoyed visiting the shop when I made it to town. Steve will be missed by me and my loved ones who grew up visiting the shop. Happy Trails Steve, put in a word for me up there.
