Fern M. Logie departed this life on February 26, 2012. Fern was born in Longmont, Colorado, on August 26, 1915, and was the wife of the late Wayne Logie, mother of Dennis (Dagmar) Logie and Brian (Becky) Logie, grandmother to Hans Logie, Heidi Paris, Bryan Logie, Erica Bush, and Ian Logie, great-grandmother to six.
Active in her Christian life, Fern was a member of Sequoia Christian Church in Redwood City since 1949. She was a leader in most of her endeavors: President of the PTAs at her children's schools; President of the Retirees Club for United Airlines; Administrative Deacon for her church; and many other roles and responsibilities.
Fern was a tomboy as a child and continued to enjoy an active life as an adult. She was a hiker, a fisher, a shooter, a camper, a horseshoe player, a world traveler, and a bowler (until she was in her late 80s). Her husband was the boy next door and they moved from Colorado to the Bay Area in 1948. Fern was an excellent homemaker and made cooking an occupation in local elementary schools and community colleges from 1957 until her retirement.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 1:00, at Sequoia Christian Church at 233 Topaz, Redwood City, CA, 94062, with interment at Skylawn following. Gifts in lieu of flowers can be made to Sequoia Christian Church or to San Mateo County Parks.
