Gary Chavez Obituary

Longtime Louisville, Colorado resident Gary John Chavez, 51, passed away from a long time illness. Gary went to his eternal home on September 8, 2021. Gary was born on June 5, 1970, in Boulder, Colo., the son of Andy Eligio Chavez, of Moffat, Colo, and Patricia Ann Stinger, of Thornton, Colo. Gary was a loving grandson, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and great friend to all. Gary was overjoyed when he and Sheila Dupont, welcomed their daughter, Leah Renee, on March 30, 1991. Gary attended all Boulder Valley School District schools, including Boulder Valley VoTech. Gary had several different careers, starting at 15 including: Blue Parrot Restaurant, Le Francis Bakery, Lefty's Pizza, Marshall Ford Boulder, Superior Aggregates, where he was a heavy machine operator for 20 years, up until he medically retired. Gary is survived by his father, Andy Eligio Chavez, of Moffat, Colo; mother, Patricia Ann Kinder, of Thornton, Colo; grandmother, Virginia Chavez, of Louisville, Colo; sister, Andrea Pat, of Lafayette, Colo; nieces, Jessica Anne, of Longmont, Colo and Ashley Nicole, of Longmont, Colo; great nephew, Ezequiel Jeremiah; brother, Duane Corey, of Moffat, Colo; nieces, Christina Maria, of Alamosa, Colo and Alyssa Ann, of Moffat, Colo; great niece, Azalea Jade; nephew, Anthony Corey, of Moffat, Colo; adopted nieces, Jesalyn & Abigale; aunt, Marilyn (John), of Erie, Colo; cousins, Gina, of Erie, Colo, Noah, of Erie, Colo; Derek, of Thornton, Colo; uncle, Mike (Patty), of Louisville, Colo; cousins, Mary, of Commerce City, Colo, Liam & Paisley, of Commerce City, Colo; Erica (Justin) of Northglenn, Colo, Jaidon and Aubree of Northglenn, Colo, Gary John (Alex), of Oregon; uncle, Nick (Betty), of New Mexico; cousins, Nick (Jessica), of Florida, Nicko, of Hollywood, CA, Mike, of Thornton, Colo, Kris (Kat), of Colorado Springs, Colo, Penelope, of Colorado Springs, Colo, Farrah, of Colorado Springs, Colo; adopted brother, Karl Cantrel, of Louisville, Colo; as well as numerous cousins and family friends. Gary is also survived by his numerous childhood friends and neighbors from the Front St. Louisville Colo home, high school, and work friends. Gary is preceded in death by his grandpa, Andy Sr.; grandpa & grandma, Ernie & Barbara Stinger; uncle, Richard Stinger; step-mother, Melinda Sue; uncle, Gary; cousin, Tony Chavez. Gary's care and arrangements have been trusted to: Simply Cremation of Colorado Springs. The Chavez family will have a Celebration of Life for Gary at a later date, in Louisville, Colo.
