Joseph Testa Jr.

Joseph ‘Latta' Testa, Jr., 81, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, formerly of Norwalk, died Wednesday, September 2nd, at home. He was the husband for sixty-three years of the late Sylvia Cogliandro Testa.

Born in Norwalk, September 18, 1927, son of the late Joseph and Angelina Iannacone Testa, he was employed by Norwalk Department of Public Works prior to retirement. Previous to his employment with the city, Mr. Testa was a self employed general contractor and talented mason for many years. A Florida resident for seventeen years, he was very active on the Board of Directors of his condominium Association at Cypress Club, Pompano Beach, FL.

Mr. Testa was a most kind, generous and loving person to all those who knew him and especially loved to cook and spend time with his beloved family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his children; Robert Testa and wife, Karen, of Stratford, Janet Dobson, of East Norwalk, Joann Dzilinski and husband Gene, of Ft. Myers, FL, Ann Marie Ciaccio, also of Ft. Myers, grandchildren; Gary & Valerie Testa, Jeff & Jessica Testa, Robert J. Testa, Robert & Kerry Dobson, Jr., Jason Dobson, Sereniti Dobson, Joseph Dzilinski and Leia Ciaccio, great grandchildren; Mariah Ventrella, Alexander, Juliana & Isabella Testa, Abigail & Nathan Testa, Alexis& Samantha Dobson and Ryland J. Ciaccio, a brother; Sam Testa, sisters; Theresa Walsh and husband Walter, Angela Robidas and husband Henry, Connie Matthews and husband Jim, Nancy Craw, and husband Kenneth Craw, Jr., sisters-in-law; Mary and Edith Testa, dear friend and caretaker, Francis Dzilinski. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a daughter; Sylvia Testa, brothers Michael and Andrew Testa and sister-in-law; Ann Testa.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Darien.

Friends may call Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue.
