Robert Henry "Bob" Rainwater, age 90, of Walnut Ridge, passed away after a brief illness on Sept. 28, 2025, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
Born on Feb. 21, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Henry and Marguerite Cooper Rainwater. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1952, and that same year he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Arkansas State College in 1957 and was a past member of the Arkansas National Guard and Tennessee National Guard. He also graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy in Memphis.
Bob owned and operated Sexton Pharmacy in Walnut Ridge for many years. A member of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, he was recognized for being a licensed pharmacist in Arkansas for 50 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member and past master of Aurora Lodge #423 and served on the board of directors of Pocahontas Federal Savings and Loan and First Community Bank for 24 years. In his free time, Bob especially enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing.
In June of 1957, he was married to Patsy Wilcoxson. She preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by their three children, Ross (Sherry) Rainwater and Renee (John) Bland of Walnut Ridge and Tom (Valerie) Rainwater of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Todd) Rayburn of Greenbrier, Rob (Melody) Rainwater of Walnut Ridge, Jon David (Emily) Rainwater of Jonesboro, Anna Bland of Fayetteville and Sam (Sarah Kate) Rainwater of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Rayburn, Reed Rainwater, Ellie Kay Rayburn, Wyatt Rainwater, and an expected fifth great-grandchild, Cooper Henry Rainwater; a brother, Mike Rainwater of Bella Vista; a sister, Peggy Smith of Hot Springs and numerous other relatives.
His body will be cremated, with the family holding a private committal service at Lawrence Memorial Park.
