Alyce Thorpe Obituary

Alyce Galligher Thorpe

known affectionately as Allie, 69, of King and Queen County, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Allie kept a positive attitude and fighting spirit through her battle. She will be remembered for her humor, strength, kindness, and love. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett; mother, Francis; sister, Linda; niece, Mindy; and best friend, Becky. She is survived by her loving husband, John; sister, Janet; bonus sons, Dylan Farrow, Brandon (Brandi) Thorpe, and Jonathan Crisp; four grandchildren; three nieces; a nephew; and six great-nieces. In addition, she leaves behind many friends, whom she loved like family, especially her ya-yas, Lisa and Cathy. Allie pursued a fulfilling career as a medical secretary at MCV, where she was well-respected and appreciated by her colleagues. Outside of her professional life, she was passionate about spending time with her family and friends, enjoying her retirement, funding QVC, and relaxing at the beach whenever she could.

A service to celebrate Allie's life will be held at BW White Funeral Home, 20408 King William Rd., King William, VA 23086, on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 6 p.m., with a period of visitation an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a charitable donation to your local animal shelter or to the Sarah Cannon Fund.

Allie was and always will be known for being an amazing woman. She had a quick witted humor that would just keep you laughing and smiling every time you were around her. She loved her family very much and loved to have them gather at her house for cookouts. My life is better now just knowing Allie. She will most certainly be missed by many and never forgotten as she left an imprint on everyone she knew..

My sincere heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends during these trying times. Peace be with them all.
