Andrew John "Bud" Daffron III

DAFFRON, Andrew John III ("Bud"), 90, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away on December 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Persinger Daffron; and a sister, Mary Daffron Cheap. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth Ann Daffron; sister, Sue Daffron Brown; three sons, Andrew John Daffron IV (Denise), Charles Meade Daffron and Scott Persinger Daffron; stepson, Christopher John Stefanac (Andrea); a grandson, Sean Christopher Daffron; and a niece, Susan J. Brown. Bud graduated from Benedictine High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, the Newman Club and Army ROTC. He served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. During his professional career he managed purchasing departments at Equitable Life Insurance Co., Life Insurance Company of Virginia, Reynolds Metals Company and Wheat First Securities Inc., where he also served as an Assistant Vice President. Bud was an active member of Richmond's St. Benedict Catholic Church, regularly attending Bible class and serving on the Parish Pastoral Council. Fascinated with family history, he was an active member of the Genealogical Research Institute of Virginia where he served two terms as president.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Bliley's Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Virginia. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, Henrico, Virginia, preceded by one hour of visitation at the church. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Henrico, Virginia.
