Ann Glenn Obituary

Ann Froman Glenn

July 9, 1931 - October 22, 2025

Ann Froman Glenn was born in July of 1931, in Richmond, Va., and joined the heavenly hosts on October 22, 2025, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by the love of her life, Carter H. Glenn, Jr.

Ann was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and faithful friend. She is survived by her children, Ronald L. Glenn and Judith A. Glenn; as well as by a host of loving friends who affectionately called her "Momma #2."

A devoted member of Fairmount United Methodist Church for 71 years, Ann faithfully served in many leadership positions within the church and in the United Women in Faith (formerly United Methodist Women). Throughout her life, she demonstrated an unwavering faith in God.

Ann's spirit of service extended far beyond the church. She was a lifelong volunteer, whether through the PTA or her 42 years of dedicated service at Richmond Memorial Hospital (now Memorial Regional Medical Center). In 2024, she was honored as Volunteer of the Year at MRMC, where she especially cherished the nurses and staff in the Surgery Center.

Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge, Scrabble, and working jigsaw puzzles. Her warmth, faith, and generosity touched countless lives and will be remembered always.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 29. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairmount United Methodist Church, 12 Bayard Road, Richmond, VA 23223.

Yesterday

Mrs. Glenn to be so tiny was the biggest ray of sunshine. She played bridge at The Springs Recreation Center and this is how she came to brighten my life every Tuesday. She would share her humor and her love of Christ with me. I have a tiny little Jesus figure on my desk which she gifted me. The world lost this ray of sunshine here on earth but Heaven gained a radiant smile and angel. I am forever grateful that our lives crossed paths. Thanks be to God.
