Anne Andrews Obituary

ANDREWS, Anne Schubert, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Anne was born July 10, 1944 to the late Frederick Theodore Schubert and Ethel MacDowell Schubert of Newport News, Va. She graduated from Warwick High School and attended Averett Junior College in Danville and Longwood College in Farmville.

After college, Anne began working as a secretary at Newport News Shipbuilding where her father had worked. In Richmond she worked at Wheat First Butcher Singer, the Richmond Circuit Court, as a paralegal for several attorneys, and later in life at the State Corporation Commission in the Bureau of Insurance. Anne is survived by her son, Bradford Andrews, his wife, Elizabeth and their son, Ryan; her son, Todd Andrews, his wife, Nichole and their children, Brodie and Summer. Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Willard Henry Andrews Jr.; her brother, Donald MacDowell Schubert of Doswell, Va.; and her special grandson, Luke who brought her so much joy.

In 1973 Anne married Willard and in 1976 when the twins were born she was devoted to them and they always kept her on her toes. Anne enjoyed reading, was incredibly knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects, was an avid fan of Virginia Tech, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved her grandchildren more than anything.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, July 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home on 3801 Augusta Avenue in Richmond. A private burial service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park.
