Beverley Clary Obituary

Beverley Boyden Clary Jr., 56, of Richmond died at home Monday after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1946 in Richmond to Dr. and Mrs. Beverley Boyden Clary. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Blomquist Clary; their children, Dr. Beverley Boyden Clary III of Richmond, John Blomquist Clary of Orlando, Fla., Charles Richard Clary of Richmond and Boca Raton, Fla., James Ashby Clary of New Orleans, La.; as well as his brother, Dr. Richard Moncure Clary of Richmond. Mr. Clary will also be missed by his grandsons, Harrison Moncure Clary and Turner Ashby Clary, both of Richmond. Mr. Clary attended St. Christopher’s School, and graduated from Mitchell College and Lehigh University. He was employed for 25 years at Reynolds Metals. Other than his family, his main love was sailing. He spent as much time as he could enjoying the river with his family and friends at Fishing Bay, and was a long time member of Fishing Bay Yacht Club. A memorial service will be held at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1205 W. Franklin St. on Friday, October 24 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North Star Academy, St. Christopher’s School or the American Cancer Society.
