Beverley Obaugh Obituary

OBAUGH, Beverley Markham, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024.

Beverley was born to Alexander and Martha Markham in Richmond, VA. Throughout her life, she embodied love, a strong work ethic and grace, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength for her family and a beacon of light in their lives.

Beverley was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Caroll Walter Obaugh; as well as her parents. She is survived by her brother, Jim Markham (Gail). Niece, Wendy Starkey; and nephew, Matthew Markham. Three loving children, Stacy, Lori, and Eric Obaugh. She was a doting Nan to Chase, Lauren (Joe), Nicholas, Alex (Rhiannon), and Valentine; and a cherished great-grandmother to Carson (12), Knox (seven), and Nolan (three months).

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central Virginia's Feedmore in honor of Beverley's compassionate and giving nature.

A celebration of Beverley's life will be held at Richmond's First Baptist Church on Monument Ave, in the chapel, on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her extraordinary life.

Beverley Obaugh may have left this world, but her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.

Bev was a true professional and great lady. She was always such a sharp dresser complete with dangling bracelets.

I worked at hunton williams for a bit, and for some reason, she's been on my mind for the last few months. Always looked immaculate

I first met Bev in the summer of 1973. She was the best our firm had to offer. Always kind, always professional, and always the personification of class and grace. When I think of those early days, I'll always think of her. My very best wishes to her family and friends.
