My first interaction with Jonah at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden revealed that she was a ray of sunshine. It was the press opening of David Rogers´ Big Bugs exhibition this May, when Jonah and her colleagues waited for media representatives of Richmond news outlets in the Robins Visitor Center. I was working alongside another Guest Services Associate when Jonah enthusiastically asked about his interests in music after learning that he was a jazz saxophonist. She even attended one of his concerts at the Dominion Energy Jazz Café at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and took a picture of the session for the Garden´s staff newsletter. That gesture exemplified the warm, generous, and caring personality Jonah had. While the sun nourished all of the plants at the Garden, she nurtured every intern, staff, volunteer, and visitor in their personal and work lives. Her presence will always be felt. Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to her colleagues, family, and friends.
